THE ORIGIN STORY
Our current Kenyan offering comes to you from the Gatuya Coffee Factory, one of two washing stations operated by the Murarandia Farmers Cooperative Society. Founded in the 1970's, the cooperative has been steadily growing since and is now made up of around 3,500 smallholder members. Situated just below Mt. Elgon in central Kenya, the Muranga district has rich volcanic soil allowing them to shade grow this coffee under a canopy of banana trees.
The fertile soil, SL-28 and SL-34 varietals and meticulous processing techniques make for a beautifully juicy cup, with notes of blackcurrant and raisin.
