THE CUP
We are getting a wonderfully juicy body with sweet notes of plum. This coffee is very drinkable (we can have more than one cup) and has a pleasantly clean finish.
THE ORIGIN STORY
Each year, Ichamama factory receives coffee from small holder farmers in the surrounding area. Ichamama is one of 17 wet mills within the Othaya Cooperative society, located along the fertile foothills of the Aberdare mountain range in Nyeri, Kenya. Coffee in Kenya, often goes through a double wash fermentation, which contributes to its clean cup. After being wet milled at Ichamama, the coffee is then sent for dry milling and sorting, where AA is separated from other grades/sizes of coffee beans. The cooperative processes coffee from farmers who generally have half acre plots averaging 250 coffee trees shaded with Bananas, Gravelia, and Macadamia trees.
