THE ORIGIN STORY
In 1994, brothers Didier and Pablo Sanchez, part of La Candelilla, acquired a farm located in San Lorenzo de Tarrazú, on the southern face of the Alto Palmilera mountain. They named the farm Palmilera, after the mountain, and initially planted Caturra and Catuaí. Over time, new varieties were introduced; today, on its 15 hectares the farm grows Gesha, Heirloom, and Typica.
They have been producing Gesha since 2001, being the first micromill in Costa Rica that exported this special variety.
