THE ORIGIN STORY

Mrs. Tigest Wako is a renowned independent coffee farmer in Idedo, Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia, celebrated as one of the rare female landowners in a culture where land is typically passed to males.  Idedo is located within the Gedeo Zone of Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia. With a farm size of 7.6 hectares inherited from her parents, making it exceptionally large compared to typical 1-hectare local smallholder plots. Mrs. Wako is married to Mr. Abraham, a local pastor and coffee supplier, who works alongside her and their children on the farm. This coffee is naturally processed, meaning whole coffee cherries are kept intact and dried on raised beds in direct sunlight. Yirgacheffe coffees are Known for vibrant, fruit-forward profile.
